VETSEARCH PUPPY CLASSIC

Monday the 1 ^st of September held two finals the VETSEARCH PUPPY CLASSIC and the 34 ^th BIRTHDAY CUP, both over the 520m distance.

 

The 34 ^th Birthday Cup was a good sign of the racing to come. Unfortunaly for the connections of CIVIC ASSET the greyhound was scratched during kenneling due to an injury.

 

With now only seven dogs competing it was sure to be a high quality race. It was a predictable Cranbourne 520m race with the first turn sorting out the field. But JOOP MUSE ended up triumphant through all the rough and tumble. The places were JOOP MUSE ($2.10F), FLYING KOSMAS One and Three quarter lengths away in second and FINE TUNE One length away in third. The time for the race was 30.59

 

The Vetsearch Cranbourne Puppy Classic was the main event for the night.

 

With a talented field it was always going to be an electrifying race. It was a mad rush for the first turn with a quick first split of 5.45. The Equal favorite VELOCETTE went to the rails on the home turn to run away comfortably for the win. With DEADLY RUMOUR 8 and a half lengths behind in second. DIN’S SON was a half a length away in third. The time for the race was 30.18 which was an excellent time considering the weather conditions on the night.

 

All in all apart from the weather it was a good night’s racing with some outside chances and some favorites winning the races.

 

The winner’s of the night were: FINAL JUSTICE ($7.60), PURE THOUGHTS($4.00), MARLY MARLY ($5.60), SEISMIC PETE ($12.10), DRACO’S IMAGE ( $9.10), JOOP MUSE($2.10F), UNO CAPO ($3.60F), VELOCETTE($3.60F), LEDARO SPLASH ($4.20), JET YA STAR ($2.80F), LEFTY ODULL ($5.60) and HANK ($3.00F).
